Can you use Microsoft SharePoint to manage electronic records? Yes – but only version 2010, not version 2007.

SharePoint 2010 offers very powerful recordkeeping capabilities, and can be used for formal corporate recordkeeping. It also has certain limitations on its ability to properly manage records.
